A former agent with the State Attorney General’s office is accused of stealing from the agency’s North Huntingdon office and from the McKeesport NAACP. The Trib reports that 61-year-old Brenda Sawyer of North Versailles was arrested Thursday on charges of dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, forgery, obstruction, and other crimes. She allegedly stole $121,000 from the AG’s office and another $52,650 from the NAACP office. The financial discrepancies came to light after her retirement. She is now in Westmoreland County Prison on $100,000 bond.
