Two out-of-towners were sentenced yesterday for cheating at the Live! Casino at the Westmoreland Mall. The Trib reports that 47-year-old Bahri Sahpolat of California and 44-year-old Serdar Ozmen of Maryland were accused of using marked playing cards while playing Mississippi Stud to win over $12,000. Both men were originally charged with felony counts of theft, receiving stolen property and criminal trespassing and a misdemeanor charge of use of a cheating device. Prosecutors dismissed the trespassing charge against them as part of a deal that allowed them to enter Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for first-time offenders. Neither pleaded guilty to the charges. They received two years of probation each, but will have the opportunity to expunge their records upon successful completion of one year of probation.
