The Westmoreland County Transit Authority is moving to some smaller buses. The agency has approved the purchase of ten 33-seat vehicles that run on compressed natural gas. They will be replacing existing 49-seat buses that have diesel engines. Authority leaders say the smaller vehicles are more practical since they began to see fewer riders who are commuting into Pittsburgh for work following the COVID-19 pandemic.
