An Allegheny Township man will not face a possible death penalty when he goes to trial on charges of killing his ex-girlfriend at their workplace in Blawnox in March. The Trib reports that 43-year-old Sean Black will still face other charges connected with the death of 30-year-old Courtney Smith in March. A filing submitted to President Judge Bruce R. Beemer said that Smith’s family expressed an opposition to the death penalty.
