MAN ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTS FIRST RESPONDERS

A man is facing charges after he allegedly assaulted first responders in Westmoreland County. Authorities say that on Saturday, first responders were called to Mohawk Drive in Hempfield Township following reports of a man needing medical attention. Once loaded into the back of an ambulance, Anthony Flowers allegedly began throwing equipment out of the ambulance, spit on EMS responders, and threatened that he was going to take a bomb to the hospital. Flowers faces several charges, including aggravated assault and simple assault.
