HEMPFIELD MAN FACES CHARGES

A 71-year-old man is facing charges involving a young teenage victim.  A 13-year-old girl says the suspect, Michael D. Thomas, would make sexual comments to her and offered her cash while she was waiting to catch her school bus in the morning.  The girl’s bus stop was moved, and authorities met up with the suspect when he showed up reportedly looking for the girl.  Police say Thomas admitted making the sexual comments to the girl and that he knew she was underage.  He has been charged with corruption of minors and stalking.
