The eleven lives lost during the worst antisemitic attack in American history were remembered in ceremonies held Sunday. A memorial ceremony was held yesterday at Pittsburgh’s Jewish Community Center to mark the sixth anniversary of the Tree of Life synagogue shooting. The gathering included a candle-lighting by family members of those who died in the attack. President Joe Biden, Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey and other local elected officials publicly acknowledged the anniversary as well. Biden released a statement saying in part, that the tragedy “shattered families, pierced the heart of the Jewish community, and struck the soul of our nation.”
