Attorneys for a Brackenridge man accused of killing his son say homicide charges filed against their client should be dropped. The Trib reports that the two public defenders representing 42-year-old Jean Charles have issues with the DNA and other evidence collected that links him to the death of Auzree Charles. The attorneys believe the DNA evidence collected on a shovel should not be used. According to prosecutors, an autopsy found Azuree was strangled with something such as a cord. The boy’s body was found on May 4, 2022 near his home — behind a shed and over an embankment, with lawn furniture and a cooler on top of him. The judge directed the defense attorneys to file briefs supporting their motions after they receive pertinent case transcripts.
