The Latrobe Municipal Authority is actively monitoring water quality after receiving several reports of water discoloration. WTAE-TV reports said the discoloration is due to low reservoir levels due to past drought conditions. The authority said the dry conditions have led to a substantial change in the quality of the authority’s “raw water,” leading to the companies’ “filtration plant to experience a slight decrease in pH levels.” While the pH levels are currently well within required levels, sediment was released due to the low water levels. The LMA says it’s continuing to monitor and make adjustments to the water system.
