PEPPER THE CAT HAS BEEN SPOTTED

Authorities are acknowledging that a cat seen running loose in Unity likely belongs to a recently deceased woman.  Sixty-four-year-old Elizabeth Pollard was searching for her cat December 2nd when she fell approximately 30-feet into a sinkhole near Monday’s Union Restaurant and dropped into an abandoned mine.  Pollard died in the fall.  Pepper the Cat has been spotted in the area in recent days but police are encouraging folks not to come looking for it.  They say the cat is fine and the last thing they want is for someone else to get hurt while work continues to secure the area.
