A Florida man is accused of stealing a $156,000 check from a Mt. Pleasant Township company. The Trib reports that 26-year-old Potensky Jean-Pierre was charged with theft, forgery, corrupt organizations and other crimes. Troopers said they were notified in early 2023 by Intervala that a check written to a Texas electronic component procurement firm apparently never arrived. Investigators determined the check was altered to be paid to Tenski Enterprises and cashed at a bank in Florida, according to court papers. Police were able to trace the check’s path to Jean-Pierre, who allegedly intercepted the check. He is now in Westmoreland County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bail, and a preliminary hearing is set for January 15th.
