A North Huntingdon zoning board has approved the construction of a solar farm in the township at a meeting last night. The Trib reports that Bear Peak Power, LLC was looking to build the large-scale solar farm along Schade Hill Road, but the township zoning officer had denied the request, saying it was not an essential service. The company appealed the decision to the zoning board, and they overturned the officer’s decision. The approval will now send the decision on whether the solar farm can be built to the township commissioners.
