AT LEAST 25 PEOPLE IDENTIFIED AS LIVING WITHOUT A SHELTER IN WESTMORELAND COUNTY

Westmoreland County’s Point In Time survey of homeless in the county resulted in 25 people identifies as living without a shelter.  The Trib reports that it’s believed that is only a fraction of the true number of homeless in the county.  The annual tally of homelessness is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  This was an expanded effort for county officials after there were no homeless persons identified during the counts in 2023 and 2024.
