The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture is reporting the commonwealth’s first bird flu outbreak in commercial poultry for 2025. Officials say a flock of 50-thousand chickens at a farm in Lehigh County have tested positive for the illness. State and federal workers are on the farm and are carrying out a response plan to limit the spread of the virus. No bird flu cases in humans or dairy cattle have been reported in Pennsylvania so far.
