A proposed solar project at what will be the Hempfield Emergency Management headquarters was put on hold after concerns over a federal funding freeze for clean energy projects would be frozen due to the actions of the Trump administration. The Trib reports that on January 27, township supervisors chose not to award a contract to Envinity out of State College to install a solar array on a rooftop. At the time, there was a federal freeze on disbursements, but since then, the freeze was lifted, so the project may be revisited.
