Minor damage was reported in a fire yesterday at a cat rescue facility in New Kensington. The Trib reports that the fire at Frankie and Friends in the 700 block of 5th Avenue was reported around 5:20 PM. A small planter caught fire outside the building by either spontaneous combustion or a discarded cigarette butt. A neighbor used a fire extinguisher to put out the flame. No injuries were reported and none of the cats inside were harmed.
