Hempfield Township supervisors are buying a local home to make way for their new municipal complex and the connection to the Five Star Trail. Local officials are agreeing to purchase the Summit Drive residence for 290-thousand dollars and to lease the land back to the current owner through the end of October as he looks for another place to buy. The house will eventually be torn down in order to have space to improve the intersection at Summit Drive, Spruce, and Rugh.
