KEY WITNESS TO HAVE TESTIMONY RECORDED

A key witness in a police shooting will have her testimony recorded amid concerns that she might die or flee.  The Trib reports that the witness, 49-year-old Amber Barkhammer, was a passenger with Bruce Alvarado as he fled in a stolen SUV through parts of Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties in 2023 before he was captured on November 10th.  A pretrial hearing will be held today and she will be interviewed just in case she fails to appear in court next month.  After trying to vacate her apartment, she was detained in Westmoreland County Jail as a material witness, but a judge ruled she could be released to house arrest and get drug and alcohol treatment.
