A third case of Whooping Cough has been detected in the Rostraver Elementary School in the Belle Vernon Area School District. KDKA-TV reports that superintendent Dr. Timothy Glasspool notified district parents late last week of the newly reported case. While the PA Department of Health is not recommending any changes to school operations, they have asked staffers and families to closely monitor any symptoms. Whooping cough is a highly contagious disease characterized by prolonged or violent coughing.
