The Norwin School Board is considering a 4.67-mill tax hike for the next school year. The Trib reports that at the non-voting meeting last night, the board asked their finance director to prepare a version of the budget that contains the tax hike, which is the maximum allowed under the state’s Act 1 index, but will not be enough to close a $4.18 million budget gap. The budget will be up for preliminary approval at their meeting on May 19th, with final approval coming in June.
