Homeowners in Jeannette may be seeing their property taxes go up soon. The preliminary budget for next academic year passed by the Jeannette City school directors earlier this week includes a two-mill property tax increase. The hike would up the annual tax bill for the average real estate owner by about 25 dollars. School Superintendent Matt Jones says one of the biggest budget issues the district faces is making payments for students who live in Jeannette but attend classes at online or charter schools.
