A meeting concerning the fate of the New Kensington and six other Penn State branch campuses is scheduled for next Thursday. The Trib reports that the Board of Trustees will hold a virtual meeting at 5:00 PM May 22nd to consider a recommendation to close the seven branch campuses. In February, Penn State administration announced that 12 of its 19 branch campuses were considered for closure due to declining enrollment and finances. While a report earlier this week showed the New Ken campus on the shortlist of branches to close, it takes an official decision from the board of trustees to make it official.
