FORMER DERRY AREA HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL NAMED FIRST ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR GREENSBURG SALEM

The principal of the Derry Area High School has been named the first assistant superintendent for the Greensburg-Salem School District.  The Trib reports that Kara Gardner was hired last week by the school board from a pool of 18 candidates.   She will oversee the district’s five principals and manage staff professional development and personnel on-boarding and off-boarding.  She could start July 1st, but the Derry School District can keep Gardner in her current role for up to 60 days.
