The Shapiro administration is approving three-point-four-million dollars in state funding to efforts across the commonwealth that connect low-income communities with food produced by local farms. The Fresh Food Financing Initiative is aimed at making fresh, healthy and affordable food more accessible to those in economically-challenging situations. Among grants approved in recent days for Western Pennsylvania businesses are more than 52-thousand dollars for the Logan Family Farm in Westmoreland County and John-Paul’s Farm in Indiana County.
