Voters turned out in Westmoreland County yesterday for the 2025 primary election. Some of the races included the County Coroner office. On the Republican ballot, challenger John Ackerman beat incumbent Tim Carson with over 53% of the vote. No one ran on the Democratic ticket, but there were a lot of write-ins recorded. For Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans Court, the former acting head of the office Katie Pecarchik earned the Republican nomination with 45.39% of the vote over challengers Jon Wian and Kimberly Horrell. In the district court race, Wayne Vlasic and Jimi Quattro will face off again in November as each earned nominations from the Democrat and Republican Parties respectively. All results are unofficial until certified by the county elections board. We have a link to the results on our website, WHJBfm.com
