A Westmoreland County Court will decide who will fill a vacancy on the Ligonier Valley School Board. The Trib reports that last night, the board failed to agree on any of six applicants for the vacancy from the sudden death of Joseph Vella on April 29th. At least three of them are candidates for a school board seat on November’s ballot. Robert Fryman, Christy Boyd and Sarah Rovedatti have said they will petition the court to be considered for appointment. In addition to selecting four winners to each serve a full four-year term on the Ligonier Valley board, the November election will determine which candidate, each to be nominated by their respective party, will serve out the remaining two years of Vella’s term. The others that are being considered include Kevin Mack, Kim Dickert-Wallace and Joseph’s father Salvatore.
