WANTED INDIANA COUNTY MAN IN POLICE CUSTODY

An Indiana County man wanted on child sex-related charges is in police custody.  Indiana Borough Police Chief Justin Schawl announced that 41-year-old Jeremy Garlena was safely taken into custody in the borough yesterday after Indiana County DA Robert Manzi announced that he was wanted on a warrant for unlawful contact with a minor for statutory sexual assault, disseminating sexual material and child pornography solicitation.  He had been communicating and sending naked pictures of himself to someone he thought was a 15-year-old Louisiana Girl but in reality was a police officer on an online undercover assignment, and also asked the “girl” to send nude photos of herself.  He is in Indiana County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing.
