A Derry Township man awaiting trial in a 2007 homicide is now charged with having drugs at the Westmoreland County Jail. The Trib reports that 55-year-old Charles Ream is charged with possession of contraband and conspiracy. Court documents show that he was seen on video in the basketball gyms communicating to another inmate through a door separating the two gyms and getting something slipped under the door to him. The envelope had buprenorphine in it. Ream remains in jail as he awaits the trial for the death of Samantha Lang at her father’s home on Route 982 in March of 2007.
