A Westmoreland County Judge ruled that Anthony Smith, who transferred from Southmoreland to Seton Lasalle, can take part in scrimmages over the next two weeks, but the rest of his sophomore season is still uncertain. The Trib reports that the PIAA and the WPIAL ruled that his transfer was athletics related, so by rule he must sit out a year. His parents say the transfer was for his safety as he was being bullied over the internet. A hearing scheduled for next week in Westmoreland County court is expected to address a preliminary injunction Smith and his parents are seeking against the two athletic organizations.
