STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE SUSPICIOUS ITEM FOUND ALONG ROUTE 30 NEAR IRWIN

State Police were investigating a suspicious item found along Route 30 West yesterday.  The Trib reports that the item was found inside a broken wooden box by a PennDOT worker around 7 AM on Thursday on Turnpike property  The area was secured as a precaution and a police dog checked for explosives.  The item was sent to a lab for testing.  Anyone with information on the wooden box can call state police at 724-832-3288.
