Officials say the ongoing budget dispute in Harrisburg will not affect the Westmoreland County Transit Authority’s operations. Transit officials say the agency has enough funding to support its current schedule of fixed-route bus service and paratransit programs to keep operating through the end of the fiscal year next summer. State lawmakers are two months late in passing a budget, leaving larger transit systems in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh short on funds they say they need to continue operating.
