Some area leaders are invited to a meeting today with Penn State officials to discuss the future of the New Kensington branch campus. The Trib reports that the campus will close in two years at the end of the 2026-27 school year Penn State officials said those campuses were recommended for closure due to declines in enrollment, poor financials and minimal room for growth. While Westmoreland County Chamber CEO Dan Debone was not invited, he did say he was excited that some discussions are being held for the future of the campus.
