A man who lead police on a chase from Westmoreland to Allegheny County that ended with the shooting of a police officer in Monroeville was ordered to serve 40 to 80 years in prison yesterday. The Trib reports 40-year-old Bruce Alvarado of Clairton was convicted in June of attempted homicide, assaulting an officer and other crimes related to the chase in November of 2023 that started when police tried to pull him over in Turtle Creek as he took someone to buy drugs. The chase ended on Rotue 356 in Allegheny Township when his SUV and a police SUV crashed side by side and he shot the officer.
