Local officials in Jeannette are hoping to secure state funding to fix the collapsed wall on Chestnut Street. City leaders hope they can get a grant to cover the 600-thousand-dollar price tag for the project. The street has been closed to motorists and pedestrians since the wall came down in May of last year. City Manager Ethan Keedy is asking residents who support the plan to send a letter to their state representatives asking for the wall to be replaced.
