PORTION OF FIVE STAR TRAIL TO CLOSE TODAY AND TOMORROW FOR RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT PREP WORK

A portion of Five Star Trail will close today and tomorrow as prep work gets underway for a reconstruction project.  The Trib reports that the trail will be closed between Fairview Avenue in South Greensburg and Shady Lane in Hempfield from 7 AM to 4:30 PM both days Lutterman Excavating crews will be clearing brush along the shoulder of the trail.  A detour will take trail users on Broadway Avenue through the Midway/St. Clair neighborhood in Hempfield near the South Greensburg border.  In the next few weeks, reconstruction work will start on the trail to take it farther away from the line used by Southwest Pennsylvania Railroad.
