The Greensburg Police Pension Board yesterday voted to suspend benefits to two former officers who are serving sentences for drug-related crimes. The Trib reports that the suspensions were for former chief Shawn Denning and former officer Regina McAtee, who were sentenced separately earlier this year in a drug distribution conspiracy case. Federal prosecutors said Denning and McAtee ordered and paid for pills that contained methamphetamine from suppliers online between November 2020 and January 2023. Investigators said text messages showed the pair were working together. Officials say they have the right to demand repayment of pension benefits McAtee received between now and last May 27th. Denning was ineligible to receive any benefits.
