Today marks the last day of work for 125 Westmoreland County employees who were furloughed due to lack of funds from the state government. WTAE-TV reports that a rally of members of the SEIU was held yestereday at Senator Kim Ward’s office, asking her to go back to Harrisburg and work with other state legislators on passing the budget. While the PA House passed a $50.25 billion budget, Senate Republican leaders have said they need time to look the budget over and did not approve it.
