Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is issuing a disaster declaration over the suspension of SNAP benefits due to the government shutdown. The governor said the state is immediately making five-million-dollars available to make sure food banks are fully stocked and Pennsylvania families are fed. The Trump Administration was ordered in federal court over the weekend to continue funding SNAP, but Shapiro said even with the ruling it will still take over a week before benefits are restored. The administration must present a plan by today to make full payments or by Wednesday for partial payments.
