In the race for Latrobe mayor, incumbent Eric Bartels held off challenger Christine Marquis to win a 2nd term. Michelle Langdon beat out incumbent Curtis Antoniak in the race for Jeannette mayor. And longtime Hempfield Supervisor Doug Weimer won his fifth term on the board in a tight race. In the 6-way race for 4 four-year terms on the Ligonier Valley School Board, newcomers Sarah Rovedatti and Robert Fryman and incumbents Christy Boyd and Cindy Brown were the winners. West Newton’s mayor, 71-year-old Democrat Mary Popovich, held off a challenge from Republican Robert Kepics, to win a 5th term in office.
