PROSECUTORS SAY WOMAN TRIED TO KILL ROOMMATE BECAUSE OF JEALOUSY

Westmoreland County prosecutors say jealousy was the reason a woman tried to kill her roommate over three years ago in Penn Township.  The Trib reports that 36-year-old Leah Gillis of North Versailles is charged with attempted homicide and other crimes connected with the shooting of Erik Allison.  Prosecutors contend Gillis fired one round from a shotgun through a glass window and door that struck Allison in the neck and shoulder.  He testified that she became enraged after she prodded him to confess his relationship with a co-worker.  Gillis’ trial continues today.
