The Westmoreland County Airport Authority has authorized taking out a $2.9 million bridge loan to keep money flowing to contractors for the terminal expansion project at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport. The Trib reports that the expected $6.2 million state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant money has been delayed, but it is not known if it was connected to the recent state budget impasse. The loan is for a one-year tem, but Airport Authority Executive Director Gabe Monzo said that he believes the grant money will come sometime in the next six months. If all goes well, the second phase of the terminal project will start next spring.
