JEANNETTE LEADERS LOOK TO REDUCE REC BOARD TERM LENGTH

Local leaders in Jeannette are looking to reduce the term length for members on the city’s recreation board.  A measure that takes those terms from five years down to three years has gotten initial approval from the Jeannette City Council, but it will need to be voted on again to be adopted.  Councilman Chad Krawtz says the five-year term seems to be too much to ask for those who are volunteering to help.  The rec board was also recently reduced from seven members down to five.
