A Hempfield man was sentenced last week to serve time in state prison for spitting on two EMT’s as they tried to take him to the hospital. The Trib reports that 33-year-old Anthony Michael Flowers was ordered last month to serve two to five years in state prison on two counts of aggravated assault and other crimes connected with an incident in October of 2024 where he threatened EMTs, spat on them, damaged equipment in the back of an ambulance and threw a fire extinguisher at them and through the rear window of a neighbor’s parked SUV. Flowers was ordered to comply with mental health treatment as part of his sentence.
