Officials in North Huntingdon Township are planning to raise real estate taxes for 2026. Commissioners are looking to boost the rate by about three-and-a-half mills to cover general fund and capital reserve fund costs. Township Manager Harry Faulk says annual tax bills will go up by about 74 dollars for homeowners with an average assessed property value of 24-thousand dollars. The overall township budget will end up at 15-point-eight-million for 2026, down from 17-million this year due to cuts to public works projects and the police department budget. Commissioners are expected to vote on the final budget during their meeting on December 17th.
