NEW KEN LEADERS JOIN BROWNFIELD REVITALIZATION PARTNERSHIP

Leaders in New Kensington are joining officials in Monessen, Jeannette, and Trafford for a Brownfield revitalization partnership.  The program is managed by the Westmoreland County Redevelopment Authority.  Communities that participate can get access to EPA funding for testing and remediation work at former heavy industrial sites.  Officials say nearly a dozen properties have been identified for potential environmental assessments so far.
