A special meeting has been scheduled for Export Council to approve the 2026 budget. The Trib reports that the proposed budget that will be considered on December 16th will hold the line on property taxes at 14 mills, and the spending plan comes to $1.1 million. Mayor Joe Zaccagnini said they were able to save $20,000 on the annual debt service as they no longer have to make payments on the flood control project. Council will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16 to vote on the 2026 budget.
