Jeannette City Council has delayed a vote on the proposed ordinance for a landlord licensing program and commercial property inspections. The Trib reports that both proposals were approved by council in November. One ordinance would change the landlord registration to a different format to allow city officials to deny licenses to those who are behind on property taxes or garbage bills. The other would require annual inspections of commercial properties. Some on council said that more discussion with the public was needed for the two ordinance. The two proposals can be up for another vote as soon as January’s meeting.
