The deadly shooting by an ICE agent in Minneapolis last week is fueling opposition to President Trump’s immigration crackdown across the nation and here in Western Pennsylvania. Hundreds of people gathered on Pittsburgh’s South Side over the weekend to call for an end to the enforcement blitz and getting federal agents out of communities. Demonstrators also got together in front of the Washington County Courthouse and in Greensburg as well. Pittsburgh Acting Police Chief Jason Lando is echoing Mayor O’Connor’s statements from last week, saying local officers are not working with ICE.
