A Delmont police officer and his K-9 partner are recovering after a crash Sunday evening in Murrysville. The Trib reports that Officer Dylan Keffer and police dog Dirk were helping Murrysville police with an an unrelated crash on Route 22 when Keffer was dispatched elsewhere. As he began to head out, his vehicle was hit from behind. State police are investigating the crash involving the Delmont Police vehicle. Both Keffer and Dirk were taken in for evaluation and Police Chief T.J. Klobuchar said they are looking forward to their return to duty.
