Hempfield Area School District is now reopening bids for a large-scale renovation project at the high school. The work has been on hold for almost two-and-a-half years after estimates came in higher than the available funds for the build. Administrators believe it could cost around 150-million dollars to complete the upgrades included in all three phases of the plan. Superintendent Mark Holtzman says he would like to see bids voted on by the end of March to allow for a June groundbreaking.
